Anvi and Tanvi Chaturvedi are 16-year-old identical twins who are high school sophomores based in Maryland. They founded this non-profit due to their shared passion for making sure that children all around the world have equal opportunities and hope to make this dream a reality by giving children resources to help them succeed.
Besides their passion for assisting to better the lives of youth living with autism and cancer, they are eager to help their community by educating those around them about these medical issues.
They aspire to pursue careers in medicine after high school. It has always been their dream to create a safe and comfortable environment where unprivileged people aren't afraid to receive the medical treatment they deserve.
They hope The RAY Foundation can be implemented throughout the nation, creating a more accepting environment for underprivileged youth and pediatric cancer as well as autism so that these kids have a more normalized childhood!
The RAY Foundation was founded by Anvi and Tanvi Chaturvedi at the age of 14 after understanding what some of their cousins have gone through with their autism and mental health struggles. As children, almost all of their family members lived across the world, so they barely got to see them. Their cousins that did live nearby unfortunately had limited communication due to them having different levels of autism. Anvi and Tanvi watched as they struggled to get the same opportunities and didn't get to properly express their feelings. This encouraged them to work and make a difference so that people recognize autistic children because they deserve so many more chances than they are currently getting.
In 8th grade, their fourth-grade teacher, whom they really loved and were inspired by, was diagnosed with breast cancer and unfortunately passed away a year later. This greatly impacted them and drove their efforts to start raising both awareness and money for medical care and childhood cancer research by selling homemade crafts and necessary resources through fundraisers.
Our team here at The RAY Foundation with chapter executives and volunteers is dedicated to bettering the lives of children battling pediatric cancer, autism, and a plethora of mental health conditions. We are focused on providing as many resources, both physical and emotional, to assist youth around us to have the best and happiest childhood possible!
